Environmental Education Train Debuts at BEONE Future Coexistence Base | Whale and Dolphin Elementary School Creates Immersive Sustainable Education

The course design breaks away from traditional lecturing methods, with the instructor leading children to learn about common whale and dolphin species in Taiwan through the "Whale and Dolphin Academy." They understand physiological structures using a model of a bottlenose dolphin's teeth and simulate the rescue process for stranded whales and dolphins, allowing children to become little guardians of the ocean. At the same time, the "Turtle Academy" allows students to learn about the roles and challenges of land and sea turtles in the ecosystem through touch and observation. The educational and entertaining design makes conservation knowledge one of the most unforgettable memories for the children. Interestingly, the course is held at the BEONE Future Co-Living Base. This shared platform, transformed from an old spa and fitness space, embodies the concept of "resource recycling and zero waste." The installation art inside extensively uses recycled materials and regenerative design, such as hanging bags made from old volunteer uniforms, symbolizing that every contribution can turn into hope for protecting the environment. Learners here can "see, touch, and feel" the spirit of sustainability, bringing the concept from the abstract into real life. Yang Shun-Chin, Executive Director of the Farglory Cultural and Educational Foundation, stated: "Life originates from the ocean, and protecting the ocean is safeguarding our future. Through whales, dolphins, and turtles as teaching materials, children not only learn about animal knowledge but also understand the impact of human activities on them." In the future, the foundation will continue to hold resource reuse courses at the base, allowing sustainable actions to be implemented in daily life, starting from individual lifestyle choices to connect with the imagination of future co-living.
